Particulary in demanding market segments, aluminium is being used increasingly as a material alternative to classic steel. The advantages of aluminium are easily identified and include low weight in tandem with high strength, which in some cases is greater than that of standard steel quality grades, as well as a characteristically elegant appearance and the accomodation of all aspects of relevance to safety. In particular, the high-strength alloys in the 2xxx/6xxx/7xxx series are ideally siuted to meeting externely divergent product demands.

On the basis of extensive experience gained in the sports and leisure industry, material characteristics such as formability, anodising and bonding capacity, as well as weldability, are constantly adapted to ideally match the demands of the end product.
IT and telecommunications
Because of its unique physical properties for electronic applications aluminium offers a number of advantages:
- lower specific weight than steel and thus achievement of higher accelerations of moving masses (e.g. parts of hard disks)
- greater strength than plastic allows thickness reduction and thus flatter designs
- rapid heat transport because of higher heat conductivity
- reduced electromagnetic interference (e.g. mobile phones)
- authentic metallic appearance because of (color-)anodising
